Untouched since the fall of the Soviet Union, this amazing time capsule glorifies the life of Joseph Stalin. From his his first desk in the Kremlin, to his railroad car, to displays of his infamous bank robberies, (yes, Stalin was a bank robber in his youth and temporarily resigned from the communist party over its ban on bank robbery) the museum feels completely untouched by the events of the last two decades.The main corpus of the complex is a large palazzo in Stalinist Gothic style, begun in 1951 ostensibly as a local history museum, but clearly intended to become a memorial to Stalin, who died in 1953.
